Hello world, This is my encore re-entrance into life I am no longer a princess, I had my Bar Mitzvah and now am a queen I have taken my right My throne, my castle, my kingdom, Realizing it is all worth my fight Accepting my power, my strength And moving from beneath the wings into the light

A New Dawn

Image
"A New Dawn" by Stephinie R. Johnson Yesterday I was afraid of love Afraid of life I did not believe in myself Or the journey that was given to me I allowed heartache and strife To take anchor And devour me Today, I chose to view my life differently and say The heck with that No more running from the mirror No more saying I can’t No more thinking I’m old No more denying what He grants I learned to love me Learned to be me Learner to accept me Learned to be free I am enjoying this life And loving me better than anyone else can Choosing to be the best me Choosing to believe in me Along with accepting all the attention My life is not perfect But I am perfect in His eyes I am moving forward Though I may stumble Trip and fall I am happily me And that’s no lie. Theme Song: Feeling Good by Nina Simone

Happy Birthday Steve Harvey

Image
"I decided to write a poem to celebrate one of my favorite comedians, tv stars, and show hosts: Steve Harvey. I am posting this early to ensure he has a chance to read it and start off his celebration for the entire month of January right. Mr. Harvey, much love for all you do!!!" Dear Steve Harvey, You’ve reached another milestone, With a life so full of ups and downs, Fighting to make a name for yourself, When only your car was your throne, And your passion was your crown. Giving all that you had to make it, Pushing not to quit, Doing what was needed in times of struggle, Stepping up to the plate in this war of toggle. People see you now, but with only a half look, They chose to only read the last chapter, Not knowing this is just the beginning of your book. You have inspired many and encouraged others, Teaching women to seek more, While also lifting our brothers. Entrepreneur, comedian, and host, Just a few hats you wear, A...

Morning is Gone

Image
The morning is gone and noon is nigh We try to live life, but escape the flight But we have all changed our tunes No one still names their child April May or June It is a way of the past when summer was spring's best friend creating exhilarating memories where hearts were made to blend Now the overcast of winter remains ever-present binding the love of happiness in its essence

A Queen's Fall

Image
Yesterday I was a queen living on top of the world ruling my kingdom embracing all of my goodness loving life and all I had seen Then at midnight, I was fooled, deceived, tricked robbed of all that I once stood for no more proud queen I became an empty shell a candle with no wick I tried to hold on to my kingdom despite the invasion but I was too late it had already planted seeds like a succubus absorbing my power voiding my inclination I was a hypothesis null I became a subject to my own army overtaken without might color without the col and a lullaby without the lull this queen is down the endless set to the sun fallen and distraught fighting against thousands, yet standing as one

A Man Named Justice

Image
There once was a man named Justice Who vowed to serve and protect Wearing proud a uniform of blue Selfless service he must project He came across a man of color  Not what he normally saw This was a man with no malice or intent But stop Justice became enthralled  This man by which did not look dim But he stood proud and stout Justice became filled with fear and envy And took his weapon and waived about Now this man who was proud and stout Did no wrong and yet could not believe That Justice he was taught to honor Had acted in a manner he could not conceive Justice grew with fear and rage And demanded this man's pride Forcefully shouting and aiming While the proud and stout man cried Asking for protection and rightful service But just that he was denied Justice became judge and jury And laid this man on his side He did not have guilt or shame For his actions through fear were justified No jury would convict Justice They will just justify how h...
