A Queen's Fall
Yesterday I was a queen
living on top of the world
ruling my kingdom
embracing all of my goodness
Then at midnight, I was fooled, deceived, tricked
robbed of all that I once stood for
no more proud queen
I became an empty shell
a candle with no wick
I tried to hold on to my kingdom
despite the invasion
but I was too late
it had already planted seeds
like a succubus absorbing my power
voiding my inclination
I was a hypothesis null
I became a subject to my own army
overtaken without might
color without the col
and a lullaby without the lull
this queen is down
the endless set to the sun
fallen and distraught
fighting against thousands, yet standing as one
