Black American Apartheid
They captured us and enslaved us.
Put chains around our necks and raped us.
We fought for injustice and they maimed us.
For a minute we had hope,
but really they just gave us more rope
Polluting our minds with dope
America the free was never meant for us.
America the free was never meant for us.
The constitution changed...nah it was just bent for us
We are not part of the human race
We are still just monkeys with a new face
Blaza blah I'm not talking hate
What I dish out is not even second rate
The Jim Crow Laws are still in effect
Our men became cattle at best
Destroy our families what’s next
The lynch mob put on new masks
With new weapons no more nooses and crosses
Just a gun and a flash
Marking us off like completing a task
Lord have mercy on us
In this genocide
An African American apartheid
We are not part of the human race
We are still just monkeys with a new face
Blaza blah I'm not talking hate
What I dish out is not even second rate
The Jim Crow Laws are still in effect
Our men became cattle at best
Destroy our families what’s next
The lynch mob put on new masks
With new weapons no more nooses and crosses
Just a gun and a flash
Marking us off like completing a task
Lord have mercy on us
In this genocide
An African American apartheid
but with cameras so they can’t hide
Though they still lie
Stashing guns and knives
And staging suicides
Going to aid other countries in their wars
While ignoring what’s at their own front door
We cry for freedom but death and destruction just pours
We try and change our looks but we won’t compare
We are just kitchen maids and Au Pairs
Criminals with nappy hair
But yet to look better you want our hair
Fuller lips butts and hips and complexions less fare
But if we call you a wanna be, how dare
We went from kings to slaves to the idea of free
Our freedom bleeds in the streets
They say stop talking bout race to press delete
Our voices need to speak out
We need to march on the street and shout
Black lives matter even in this hope-stricken drought
